Weddings, The most glorious day in a woman’s life. Notice, that was read
‘woman's’ not ‘man's’ because, truth be told while the marriage is about
two, the wedding is all about the bride, and the most important factor
is…finding that perfect dress!
Yes there are some beautiful ideas of wedding dresses out there, but if
it does not cost a fortune, it's generally not the right size. You can
spend a whole lot of time finding that perfect dress that just does not
seem fit you right.
The reason most wedding dresses (at least the good name brand ones) are
not quite the perfect fit is that, the majority of them were made in
another country. Therefore, size becomes an issue. American manufactures
run a size larger in clothes than many other countries that so often
make the styles that we prefer. A size 6 here may be a size 8 there, a
size 10 here might be considered plus size there and has to be specially
made.
So, how do we fix the problem? One could always just have the dress
taken in or tailored to fit our uniquely shaped bodies. Still others
choose to stick with American designers or people who actually carry
gowns already fitted for our beautiful and unique shapes. Make sure that
your dress fits you throughout the beast and arms, and that it is the
length and style that you want.
In the end, it comes down to compromising that fabulous style we want,
and the size we so desperately need. We want the more frilly and girly
style because it's glamorous and beautiful; we need the right size
because, lets face it, it's got to fit. Many times, it can feel like
you’re not going to win, either you’re going to splurge on tailoring, or
end up with 2nd prize.
One option you always have is looking online for that special dress.
Don't limit yourself to just a few bridal shops in and around town.
Online bridal sites give so much more options to the limited and choosy
woman and they usually have many different styles and designs.
And it does not stop there. These sites usually have the bridesmaids and
mother of the bride dresses as well. No matter what you are looking for,
it is easy to find all of the things that compliment that perfect bride
with that perfect dress like the perfect purse, the shoes or the gloves.
Some of the cons to this method, however, are that you won’t get to try
the dress on for a sure fit, and in the event that it does not fit the
way that you thought it would then you have to go through all the
trouble of sending it back or getting it tailored, which is what we were
trying to avoid in the first place.
So back to the drawing board, Style or fit. Either way, more then likely
we are going to end up spending more money then we want to. But because
your wedding is only going to happen one time. (or at least we hope) Go
ahead and splurge a little so you can look like the Princess you always
dreamed you would look like. In the end, it will be well worth it.
