Bridal Registries

Registering for Wedding Gifts

How to choose bridal registries can sometimes be complicated and difficult, but there are some things you can do to make it easier. Such as going to your favorite stores and asking for their gift registry then making a note of everywhere you went. When you send out your invitations to the Wedding Reception you can mention that you are registered and where to help choose the gift you really need. This makes the guest more comfortable about their choices and allows you to tell people what you really want.

Most Bridal registries are electronic now and the gifts bought can be marked off. However, there will be times when you get two of one thing, what you do is ask that all gifts have a gift receipt in case they don’t work and you have to return them.

The process for Registering gifts can be really fun and a way for you and your groom-to-be or bride-to-be a chance to do something fun that won't cost you much. You can both have the chance to put what you want on the list and how many of each item.

You need to know the names of everything you want and though some registries have an electronic list, not all of them do. You will also need to make sure you put some of the items you want on all the registries. This helps to ensure that you are getting the gift you want from the store you want. Also not everyone shops at the same places so they might not see what you really need.

Many places have books instead of computers, so you want to go in with a nicely typed or printed copy of what you want specifically.
Do not write your list out on paper, even really nice stationary, the best of handwriting is sometime hard to read.

Unique ideas for gifts are sometimes hard to come up with, unless you know your taste and your future spouse’s taste intimately. You should choose colors that blend well into any decor, and that are universal in styles available. With that said, let’s move on to what you really want. If you are into a specific culture or art décor, you can register at local galleries as well.

You no longer have to register for the same old things that most couples did in the past. If you or your spouse are into sports then ask for items that accentuate this, such as lamps, rugs, bedding, towels, and more. You can register these at most department stores and even at sporting good stores. Home improvement centers are a good place to register as well. There you can ask for you basic home needs or the really extravagant items such as electric tools and not be stepping on anyone’s toes.

There are, of course, the department stores, cooking stores, and discount stores as well. Many of the items you want or need, can be
found at any of these stores and it is a good idea to choose carefully what you want from where. Most stores now have web sites and their gift registries are on them as well, this gives your guest the chance to see exactly what you want and shop for it without leaving home. A very unique and new idea for gift registries is lingerie. I know it is a common fashion for brides to get at least one piece at their shower but just think now you can give them an idea or even show them what type you want, from the modest to extravagant designs.

Tips on how to make the whole process easier and more rewarding for everyone is to start out by asking each other what you want and where it can be found. Then make your list and start going by the stores. Give yourself all day to do it and plan on having lunch at a local restaurant. This way, you and your honeybun are spending quality time together making sure you get what you need and want as gifts. You need to make the guests feel as though they are a part of the process and easier for them to choose.

So the ones you know exactly where they shop, you can put the names of those stores you registered with on their invitations. To
make it fun, find items that are unique and that will still be there when your invitations go out. Once you know what you are looking for, give hints or clues and make it a treasure hunt out of finding what they are. Finally, let the guests know that you will be giving out a prize for the one who finds the most items at your reception.
