second marriage, or even the third or fourth marriage. Getting married
again can be significant of a change in your life now that you have once
again found love and you deserve to have a wonderful wedding where you

couples who are getting married for the second time find themselves a
bit confused about what to do, so the following are some helpful tips,
suggestions, and ideas that can make your remarriage an excellent one.
Tell the Kids First!
One of the most important things to do if you are going to get remarried
is to make sure that you tell your kids before you tell anyone else.
Once you are engaged both you and your fiance need to sit down together
and break the news to all of the kids. You definitely do not want them
to hear this kind of news from anyone else but you. If you are honest
with them and keep them in the loop, they will no doubt accept the
situation much easier. Never hide this type of life changing event from

Be Sure to Discuss Finances
When you get engaged another important thing you will need to do with
your fiance is to sit down and discuss your finances. Second weddings
are a whole different ballgame than the first, and no doubt you have
many more possessions and assets than you did when you had your first
wedding. You need to discuss how you are going to blend your homes
together and your finances, and many couples who are getting remarried
decide to have a prenuptial agreement as well. In some cases you may
even find it helpful to go to financial counseling especially for
couples who are getting married for the second time.
What to Wear
Another big decision that you will have to make for your remarriage is
what you are going to wear on your wedding day. The most important thing
to keep in mind when deciding on your wedding garb is to wear exactly
what you want to wear. If you want to wear white, then don’t let anyone
talk you out of it. However, if you want to wear colors or even a
beautiful pant suit remember it is your day and you can wear whatever
you want. This is your big day and you are entitled to wear whatever
makes you happy. So, don’t let anyone talk you into wearing something
that you do not want to wear. Let tradition go to the wind and have fun
with your wedding day attire.
Get Creative with the Shower
Showers for people who are getting remarried can be a bit different.
Usually most couples you are on their second or third wedding already
have what they need for their home, so the traditional shower may not be
the best idea. The great thing about this is that you can have a lot of
fun with this shower. Make it something different and exciting and have
a great party. You can choose to go to the movies for your shower or
even have a themed shower like a barbecue or a costume party. Since you
don’t have to worry about the traditional shower, get creative and make
sure you have fun with your wedding shower. If you don’t even want to
have a shower, that is okay too because you are the one in control.
Involve Your Children
When you are getting married again, you will definitely want to involve
all of the children in your ceremony. If they do not want to
participate, that is fine; however, you will want to make the offer.
Often, getting your kids involved makes them feel important and that you
are all committing to each other. Don’t be afraid to have a special part
in the ceremony that includes your children so that they feel a part of
the family. Remember, often a second marriage includes blending together
two families, so you want all the children to feel as if they belong.
Getting married for the second time can be a wonderful thing. Your
wedding day will be a day for you to shine and celebrate the second
chance at love that you have been given. Most importantly, make the day
