Although the classic white wedding cake is still quite popular, many
people are opting for unique wedding cakes today. With the styles
available, there is basically a cake to fit anything your imagination
can create. For as many unique individuals there are, there is a cake to
go with them. Let's look at some different styles, flavors, shapes and
sizes. You will surely get some unique ideas for your wedding cake.
Styles -
When you select a style for your wedding cake, you will want to consider
your theme. You can find a cake for any theme, whether you will be
having a gorgeous spring wedding, a flowery Hawaiian theme, or a
traditional church wedding. There are some great styles to look at. With
a spring wedding, there are a couple of great unique ideas for your
wedding cake. Specialty bakeries or cake designers can actually place
beautiful, edible flowers all over your cake! If you choose, you can
have one large, main wedding cake, and then smaller, matching cakes to
place on each table. For a traditional church wedding, you can choose to

Flavors -
Although chocolate and white cakes will always be a favorite, much more
unique and delicious flavors are available now. You want your wedding
cake to not only look beautiful, but taste wonderful as well. It's easy
to choose a flavor that you love, and you can even choose a flavor to go
with your theme! Having a Hawaiian wedding, go with a pineapple or mango
wedding cake. What about a Spring theme? Try Wild Cherry, or Passion
Fruit. Again, the possibilities are endless. Oh, and don't worry, if
you're a traditional type person, you can still get a delicious vanilla
cake. You may want to try kicking the flavor up a bit though, with a
French Vanilla or Mocha frosting!

Shapes are a beautiful way to get unique ideas for your wedding cake.
You can make any cake look modern, traditional, or funky using different
shapes. Traditional cakes are usually made with round tiers, although
you can spice it up a bit if you choose. Try alternating round and
square tiers, or just go with the square ones. Using the traditional
icing and decorations, the square tiers will look more modern, but still
have that beautiful traditional look. Atypical shapes are a great way to
create a unique and beautiful wedding cake. These are especially great
for funky, new, fabulous looks.
Sizes -
The size of your wedding cake is entirely up to you. Whether you are
having an enormous, 300 guest wedding, or a small and intimate 'family
only' ceremony, you can get a cake in the appropriate size. You can
choose to have one huge cake or a smaller main cake, and several
matching cakes to place at each table. This is a fabulous idea for
larger weddings. Smaller weddings are perfect for one main cake that
will be completely unique and gorgeous. Picking out a wedding cake can
be frustrating, but if you take advantage of these unique ideas for your
