Wedding Crazy: Wedding Gloves

Choosing the Right Wedding Gloves & What to Look For

If you will be getting married soon, no doubt you want to be sure that you look beautiful on your wedding day. To create a beautiful wedding ensemble, your dress, shoes, and accessories are all very important. One important accessory that can enhance the way you look on your big day is wedding gloves. Bridal gloves are very beautiful and add tasteful elegance to any bride. If you decide to wear gloves at your wedding, you will want to know exactly what you should be looking for in a pair of wedding gloves.

Style of Wedding Gloves
One thing you need to consider when you are looking for the right wedding gloves is the style of the glove. You will want to be sure that the style of gloves complements your wedding gown instead of taking away from the gowns’ beauty. Usually, it is best to wear gloves that have a very simple style if you are wearing a very elaborate dress. On the other hand, if your dress is very simple, you may want to dress it up with some very fancy gloves. The key thing to remember is to be sure that the gloves add to your look instead of taking away from it.

The Length of Wedding Gloves
Another thing you will need to remember is to choose the appropriate glove length. The length of gloves you will need will vary depending on the sleeve length of your wedding dress. If you are wearing a wedding dress that is sleeveless, then you will want to choose long gloves that come almost to your shoulders. For dresses that have long sleeves, gloves that come to the wrist are most appropriate. Some dresses have short sleeves or cap sleeves, and with these sleeve lengths, you will want to wear gloves that come up to your elbows.

What About the Rings
You may be thinking that wearing gloves will be a beautiful choice, but you may be wondering how you will exchange the rings at your wedding if you have gloves on. Well, you have two different choices for the part of the ceremony when you exchange your wedding rings. First of all, you can create a slit that will allow your finger to be exposed or you can choose gloves that actually have the ring finger cut out. You can also decide to take off your glove on that arm when you are ready to exchange the rings. If this is your choice, be sure that you have practiced taking off the glove so you can do it quickly and flawlessly at your wedding.

Wedding Gloves and Your Reception
Once you get to the wedding reception, you will want to keep your gloves on while you are greeting your wedding guests. After you have greeted your guests and it is time to start eating, you will want to be sure to take off your wedding gloves. You should never eat with your gloves on, so be sure that you take them off and put them in a safe place where they will not get soiled. Once you are at the reception, you can start enjoying the party, so remove your beautiful gloves and have a wonderful time with friends, family, and your new groom.
